Company Holiday and Year-End Parties
If a company has only one gathering a year; the holiday party, Christmas dinner or year-end gathering is typically the event where everyone comes together.
Many times because of this single event there is great emphasis placed on the gathering and there is pressure on those involved in planning it to ensure everything goes well and that the event is a success.
David can help take the pressure off your shoulders by ensuring that the entertainment meets and exceeds your expectations.
There are two key elements with regard to entertainment at the holiday gathering. The basic structure applies to luncheons as well:
The Reception (Close-Up Strolling Magic):
During the cocktail hour or reception is the perfect time to have strolling magic. David goes from group to group or table to table and gives everyone their own personal close-up magic performance.
These performances break-the-ice, make people laugh and help them interact because the magic happens in their hands and right under their noses. Strolling magic sets an up-beat happy tone right from the start of your gathering.
Typically at company functions spouses or significant others are meeting for the first time or they have not seen each other in a year and need some common ground to be able to pick up the conversation.
Strolling, Close-Up Magic is a fascinating interactive experience that many people have not witnessed on a professional level. In fact when performed properly is makes people gasp, laugh and bewilders them so much so that in addition to entertaining, it helps people of diverse backgrounds and ages to come together, and enjoy themselves. In essence it allows you to surround your guests and associates with glamor and excitement.
Strolling and close-up magic can also be cleverly used toward the end of the evening. Sometimes guests have come alone and end up being wall flowers while others dance the night away. Having David performing close-up magic toward the end of the evening makes these guests feel warm and included in the fun; this may be important to them especially during the holidays.
After the Meal (Stage or Stand-Up Show):
Normally after everyone has eaten one or more the the company’s executives will give a speech. This can be a multi-person presentation where employees are honored or singled out for achievement or it can be a short recap of the year in review and a thank you. Then comes the entertainment.
The Stage or Stand-Up Show is perfect for the after dinner part of the evening. Designed for groups from 20-2000, this is where your guests are entertained as a whole. David performs a 45 to 60 minute show that is interactive and fun. Filled with comedy and mind reading it uses a variety of different illusions and tricks specifically chosen to compliment your event.
Throughout the program audience members are asked to join David on stage and help with the various tricks and illusions. It is important to note that everyone is treated with the utmost respect and consideration and that the performance is conducted tastefully.
David is also sometimes asked to weave in a raffle, prize or gift giveaway into the show. This can be done in many different ways and if you think this is something you may want to explore please contact David and together you can go over the various options and possibilities.
Banquets and Award Dinners
Having a celebration specifically for the purposes of rewarding and recognizing exemplary performance gives it it’s own special importance. Having a magician or a magic theme helps bring the event to life and gives it glamour and excitement right from the very start.
The reception can feature close-up strolling magic where David mingles with your guests and ensures that everyone will have an opportunity to have their own close-up magic performance. This is where the magic happens in their hands and right under their noses. David captivates your guests with cards, coins and other objects.
After dinner the stage or platform show is a savvy and sophisticated choice that will respectfully involve and entertain your guests.
Your reception could start out with strolling magic during the cocktail hour and then after dinner a stage or platform show. If you’re giving away gifts to specific individuals or having a raffle, these can also be incorporated into the presentation to create a cohesive magic themed entertainment solution for the entire evening. Please see David’s performance video for Infinity Insurance by clicking here for a specific example of how this is done. The end of the clip features David working in a raffle prize drawing between tricks.
Is a valued employee or beloved company executive retiring? Is someone special being promoted? Did a long standing “impossible to break” sales record get broken? With a bit of advance planning David can customize a presentation featuring magic to highlight an achievement or honor special people.
Cocktail Parties and Mixers
Having an informal gathering of friends, associates or clients perhaps just for drinks and appetizers?
Why not add David’s strolling magic performance to the menu? Strolling close-up magic is specifically designed and intended to ensure that your guests have the opportunity to see magic up-close. This is where the magic happens in their hands and right before their very eyes. It’s the kind of magic most people have not experienced and when done on a professional level can make a lasting impression for decades.
They’ll remember and talk about you and your event for months to come. It’s fun, funny, and affordable.
Milestone Birthdays and Anniversary Celebrations
Take the predictable out of the standard birthday party or milestone celebration and add an element of magic to your event. Whether it’s you, a family member or friends make the event memorable with a special magic performance.
You could choose to have close-up strolling magic if the party is going to go on for some time with people coming and going or you could decide to have a stand-up show where the entire audience is entertained as a whole.
In some instances you can combine both services by having the strolling magic during the beginning of the event and the stand-up show after the meal and just before the dessert, dancing and/or the presents.
Either way David can tailor his performance to fit your needs all the while making your guest(s) of honor the star(s) of the show.
Weddings, Engagement Parties and Showers
Weddings, Engagement Parties and Showers are so much more fun when you have unique entertainment that your guests can enjoy and interact with.
We all go to so many weddings, but what do you remember about them? Typically unless you are closely involved with the planning and preparation they all blend into one big mishmash of sameness.
Make your next wedding reception stand out and be remembered as the fantastic celebration that it should be. David performes at a handful of weddings each year and when he does the response is absolutely amazing. In fact David can give you references who will tell you that months after the wedding was over the one thing the guests kept on talking about was the magic during the reception.

The following items are to be supplied by the sponsor as part of the pre-show setup:
One six-foot or eight foot rectangular banquet table. Table should be skirted.
If the audience size exceeds 50 people, it is recommended that there is a riser.
If the stage is to be shared with a DJ or band, please call to discuss.
If the room is rectangular, place the stage in the middle of the long side of the rectangle. The room then becomes more intimate and makes for a better show.
Even if the room is much larger than necessary the tables should not be spaced out. They must be as close to one another as possible with just enough room for wait staff to squeeze between chairs that are back to back.
One wireless lavaliere microphone or one wireless hand held microphone with stand.
Please call to discuss if your group is small. A microphone and sound system may not be needed.
To ensure the most intimate show the banquet tables should be set up as close to the stage as possible. There should be stairs that allow performer and audience members easy access to the stage.
If there are going to be speakers using a lectern, then the lectern should be placed on either the right or left side of the stage NOT in the center. The lectern should also be placed about five feet or more from the edge of the stage to allow people to stand and to move in front of the lectern.
